€4 Billion for Sustainable Mobility and Aerospace

France 2030 allocates €4 billion to the mobility sector, targeting electric vehicle production, low-carbon aviation, and sustainable transport infrastructure. France aims to produce 2 million EVs annually by 2030 and maintain its position as Europe’s #1 aerospace nation.

Electric Vehicle Manufacturing

Renault is producing the Renault 5 E-Tech (from €25,000) at Douai, while Stellantis manufactures electric Peugeot, Citroën, and Opel vehicles across French plants. 640,000 EVs were produced in France in 2024. The Battery Valley (Verkor, ACC, Envision) ensures domestic cell supply.

Low-Carbon Aviation

Airbus is developing a hydrogen-powered aircraft (ZEROe program) targeting entry into service by 2035. France 2030 co-funds sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) production: TotalEnergies’ La Mède refinery produces 500,000 tonnes/year of SAF. Toulouse’s aerospace cluster houses 400+ companies in the supply chain.

Rail and Urban Mobility

Alstom (global HQ: Saint-Ouen) leads European rail manufacturing. France 2030 funds next-generation autonomous rail, high-speed rail expansion, and hydrogen-powered trains. Urban mobility startups include BlaBlaCar (€1.6B, long-distance carpooling) and Cityscoot (electric scooter sharing).
